Bengalbirds is an initiative made by some amateur birders who aims to guide common people to identify local birds, know about different types and helps to understand bird conservation. Ornithology or the study of birds is now a growing interesting subjects in this country. Starting from Dr. Salim Alim , Laeeq Futehally and their endeavour to this subject of study - many people are now in the move to explore this domain. The aim remains same for all bird watcher periodically - to house them in our human kingdom with the proper value of their lives.

Before the advent of British Ruler - Birding was completely non-existent subject to us. But Dr. Jerdon, a british civilian found an amazing interest in this peculiar subject; he surveyed many odd destinations and collected information on Indian birds. "The books of India" was published by him later on 1862-1864.Jerdon's Birds of India introduced a refreshing element in Birding domain. Later the advancement in this domain was made by the man - Allan Octavian Hume - a British. His contribution to this subject was immense and endless. Later an expert amateur birder E.C. Stuart Baker - an officer of Indian Police - who collected and studied birds and the nesting taste. Our knowledge about the bird's life and behaviour of most of the birds are now many times organized than before - and it is only due to the endless effort made by some amateur naturist birders...Indin housed nearly 1250 species of birds which is nearly 13% of the different kinds of birds all over the universe. So - you can understand - we are really lucky to have this much of diversity among our hills sea forest and concreate worlds.
