Birding at Kalimpong hills covering Pedong, Reshi River and Kalimpong

Author: Amit Kr. Ghosh
Travel Date: 15-April-2010 To 18-Apr-2010
Pedong is located on the road that connects Kalimpong-Algarah to Sikkim;one of the oldest towns in this region with many significant historical importance; is a small town nestled at a comfortable elevation of 4500ft, which ensures a pleasant climate round the year.

Many short treks originates from Pedong to Damsang Fort, Tinchuley and Ramitey. We stayed there for 2 nights in month of April 2010. After reaching Kalimpong, we took a share jeep to Pedong which costs us @ 400/-; we had booked Chavi Village Resort (earlier known as Soods Village Resort); The manager cum cook provided us a warm hospitality during our stay; Pedong is not a well known destination in tourist map - not much construction of hotels has ruins its virginity;
