Barrackpore : A New Hotspot in Birding Map

The river side area of barrackpore is much greener and a pleasure zone for all nature lover, in there we found large numbers of amazing big tree, they appears like 200 yrs old. Some nature parks in the area are very graceful as they are residence for many birds and butterflies. Specially The "Jawaharkunj Garden", its situated on bank of river Hooghly just right beside of well known "Gandhi Ghat".On 2nd January 2011 we was in the park for 3-4hrs and found some amazing treasures of nature. Specially The "Scarlet Backed Flowerpecker". I was stunned at the first sight of the bird, it was just a amazing experience and clicked some record shots as its first sighted hitherto unreported area in South Bengal.

How to reach:-

Forty minutes by train from Sealdah (on the main line). Get off at Barrackpore station and take a rickshaw or book an auto-rickshaw. Barrackpore-bound buses (L20, 78, S32) from Shyambazar, get off at Talpukur or B.T. Bose stop and take a rickshaw. An hours drive (in usual traffic) from Shyambazar through B.T. Road, before Barrackpore Chiriamore.
