| Dear friends!!!
This weekend - me and my wife spent a wonderful evening on the riverside of Rupnarayan. Yes - we were at Gadiara. Saturday with a family friend - we started around 2.15 PM in noon and reached Gadiara at around 4.45 pm. It was just a scorching heat all over; The whole evening we spent by seating on the riverside. It was a full moon night - so the water level was much more than other days. The next day morning we did birding for say 2 hours. We woke up around 5.15 am and started walking through the green farming land between new chalantika and river view hotel. There we watched good number of scaly bellied munia, white throated fantail. While moving towards Ferry ghat - we found Great tit and Streak throated wood pecker. The rupnarayan tourist complex is also a good place of birding. Hope - in winter time much more species can be found in Gadiara. After taking some breakfast we left from Gadiara at around 10 and reach kolkata by 1.00 PM. 1. White throated fantail 2. Scally bellied munia 3. Red vented bulbul 4. Red whiskered bulbul 5. Rose ringed parakeet 6. Asian palm swift 7. Coppersmith barbet 8. Lineated barbet 9. White throated kingfisher 10. Stork billed kingfisher 11. Common kingfisher 12. Purple sunbird (male & female) 13. Chestnut tailed starling 14. Yellow footed green piegon 15. Black hooded oriole 16. Great tit 17. Black rumped flameback 18. streak throated woodpecker 19. Spotted dove 20. Black drongo So - lets pack your bag and leave for Gadiara in any weekend morning; Hope you will enjoy the birding along with nature, greenaries and calmness of Rupnarayan.
