Last sunday (22/03/2009) was a wonderful birding day for me and my spouse. This is the first time we visit CKBC. Just a few minutes walk inside the sanctuary - i was surprised to see one brown breasted flycatcher; It was sitting on a low branch of a bush and gave us wonderful opportunity to snap this bird. This bird is a return migration birds - found in kolkata during april. We were lucky to find this bird earliest. Along this we spotted 10-12 drongo's child flying around us. Two Lineated barbet were seen atop of a tree. Wonderful color. Last time at Jayanti i spot this bird. Deep inside the park - we found plenty of red whiskered bulbul and white throated fantail. One eurasian golden oriole i spot at the end of the park. It was an immature one. Common hawk cuckoo was the interesting bird i found - many a time we spot this near the entry of the park...The colors of blue throated barbet is unforgottable. We have taken lots of snap of that. Rufous breasted woodpecker and black flameback - does not miss from our sight...Overall - it was a wonderful experience for us for the first time visit into this sanctuary. Happy Birding Amit | |
